A tale of hot tub love!

We tell you all the time how much we love our hot tub, and how wood-fired Cotswolds Eco Tubs are the best. So we thought we’d share a bit about how it all started.

Years ago we bought a holiday home in France. It’s in a rural location in Limousin, we’re surrounded by glorious countryside, and we fell head over heels for the laid-back lifestyle, the food, markets, wine, people – pretty much everything about life in France. Our kids loved it too. The weather’s pretty good in this part of France so we thought about putting a pool in. But our budget didn’t stretch that far, and we worried about maintenance. It was out daughter who suggested a hot tub instead.

Well, we’re the sort of people who like to check everything out thoroughly. We looked at what was available, running and maintenance costs, reviews galore, and we wanted a spa that would be as sustainable as possible. After a lot of research, we discovered wood-fired hot tubs. We knew we’d found ‘the one.’

It was affordable, low maintenance and met our desire for eco-friendly living. We couldn’t find what we wanted in France, so we bought one from the renowned Cotswolds Eco Tubs Company in the UK.

As soon as we got in our hot tub, we knew we’d made the perfect choice. Listening to the sound of crackling wood, watching steam rise gently, relaxing in the warm water, listening to the birds in the garden and being outdoors even on a cold day and feeling good. The whole family fell in love with the experience. And so did our friends and neighbours when they dipped in! People kept asking us how they too could have a wood-fired hot tub like ours.

In 2020, we decided to launch Hot Tubs in France. We work Cotswolds Eco Tubs because their products offer outstanding quality and craftsmanship, superb hand-crafted luxury, several designs to suit every customer, and unbeatable prices with no hidden costs. That was really important to us because when we’d been searching for our own hot tub, we found that so many companies gave one price but then added on more for steps, for lights, for jets etc. We don’t do that, the price includes everything.

We love that minimal electricity is involved (lights and jets only), especially as electricity costs have soared over the last few years. We love that using wood is a sustainable way to heat our tub; we can even use old wood from the garden. We don’t use chlorine in our tub; there are excellent alternatives, which means we can recycle the water. Tubs heat up quickly, the insulation provides good heat efficiency – we often use our hot tub in the evening and then dip in with a cup of tea in the morning without reheating.

We now deliver these fabulous hot tubs all over France. We absolutely love what we do – advising people on the best type of hot tub for them, installing them for our lovely customers, helping with any questions afterwards and reading their emails telling us how much they love their hot tub experience. If you’d like to see Cotswold Eco Tubs in person, visit our garden showroom at Hot Tubs in France HQ, just outside Limoges. And if that’s a little too far for you to visit, let us know as we have a wonderful network of Cotswold Eco Tub customers across France who are happy to welcome potential owners for a friendly visit.

And, after all these years we absolutely love our hot tub too (as the picture of us celebrating our 7th anniversary in our hot tub in France at the top shows!).
