Springtime!

March 1st - Spring is definitely in the air

Don't you just love springtime? The days are getting longer, flowers are popping up all over the place and I've even seen a few bumblebees and humming-bird moths. After a long, grey, damp winter it's given me a real boost to be able to get out in the garden again. I don't just mean in the hot tub, but out in the sun, pulling up weeds and clearing the last remaining leaves tucked away in the corners of the garden.

Getting out more

Having a few rays of sunshine also seems to have got people exercising more. I go riding as often as I can because my horse is stabled for most of the winter. His ears prick when he sees me coming over ready to tack him up. And after a quick trot around the lanes he's let loose in the field until it starts getting dark. I've noticed on our hacks that there are a few more people out and about too. Not just in their gardens, but walking, cycling and even the odd jogger.

Catching up with the neighbours

Being outside means we have also been able to catch up with our neighbours too - socially distanced of course. Living where we do in a small rural community, as soon as it's dark the shutters are closed - even when there isn't a 6pm to 6am curfew. Everyone just locks themselves in and huddles round the wood-burner. Sounds romantic doesn't it? Well when you forget to fill the log basket, and have to go out in the cold and rain it's definitely not!

Busy few weeks

We have both worked hard to get the barn roof completed and thankfully it will be more or less watertight for when the next hot tubs delivery arrives. We have already started scheduling in the new deliveries so it's going to be a busy few weeks. It's hectic, but meeting new people, and seeing the smiles on their faces when the tub is set up is just amazing.

We delivered two new hot tubs to Maison d'Été only last week. Before we even got back home they had sent us a photo of their tub filled, heated and ready to go! We'd like to wish Judith and Gary lots of success with their new gite business. Their guests are going to love chilling out in the hot tubs each evening.

Hot Tubs On Tour 2021

Next on our agenda will be planning the summer Hot Tubs tour. We are hoping to go back to Chateau Gioux in the summer, and have also got a few new venues confirmed. If we can all be good and follow the government Covid advice, then fingers-crossed this summer will be a lot better than the last one. We still have space for a couple more venues if you would like to host an event. You don't have to do anything other than provide us with a great location and a tub full of water for a few hours.

PS. Good to see Le Ranch Camping back on the TV today. Well done Hayley & Mike. You guys are naturals!
