Simple weekly maintenance for your hot tub
A lot of people who enquire about buying our hot tubs often ask what is the best and easiest way to keep the water safe and clean. It's important to know, especially if you are in the gite business as a lot of our customers are. We have always provided a chlorine starter pack with each hot tub sale, but whether you use salts, chlorine or bromine products, it's advisable to change the water frequently to stop the build up of algae and bacteria.
Chlorine and bromine additives are not suitable for everyone though, especially people with sensitive skin. And if you are anything like us, then you would probably prefer to use products that are 100% environmentally friendly.
No unpleasant odour
Another problem with using chlorine and bromine is the slightly unpleasant chemical smell. Some people like the smell because it reminds them of being in the swimming pool, others don't even notice it. But the products that Cotswold Eco Tubs now recommend for using with their hot tub range has none of the smell or harsh chemicals. The product shelf life is 3 years so you don't have to worry about them going out of date, even if you miss a seasonal purge and drain!
